Become a Certified Flight Instructor
To become a certified flight instructor (CFI) or certified flight instructor instrument (CFII) at The Pilot Place, you will need to hold either a commercial pilot certificate or an airline transport pilot certificate.
To become a flight instructor, you need to log at least 15 hours as pilot in command in the category and class of aircraft that is appropriate to the flight instructor rating sought.
To complete the certified flight instructor course, individuals will need to complete the following:
- Pass a knowledge test on the aeronautical areas (written)
- Receive a logbook endorsement from an authorized instructor on the fundamentals of instructing
- Pass a required practical test that is appropriate to the flight instructor rating sought (flight)
